There is a latest news that losing weight can help cure sleep apnea on obese persons and overweight persons.

Scientific studies was release early in the February this year (2009) that losing weight can cure constructive sleep apnea. Sleep apnea happens when there are pauses in breathing while a person sleeps. The study was justified in a sampling created by a researched group where they reduce the weight of the respondents. Over continuous low calorie diet and active lifestyle, the respondents show improve health and also reduces the problems on hypertension, diabetes and high cholesterol.

As quoted, "This is emphasized by our findings that, in conjunction with the improvement in AHI, significant improvements were also found in symptoms related to OSA, insulin resistance, lipids, and cardiorespiratory variables, such as arterial oxygen saturation, in patients belonging to the intervention group," wrote Dr. Tuomilehto. Dr.Henri P.I. Tuomilehto, M.D., Ph.D., works at the department of Otorhinolaryngology at the Kuopio University Hospital in Finland.

This new study by him and his team will lead to a new breakthrough that will ultimately lead to a healthier living and lifestyle, especially when weight loss is concerned.
